Fusion Health Iron Advanced contains a carefully selected blend of vitamins and minerals, just in the right proportions, to assist you with iron maintenance, in cases of high demand or low dietary intake, or for the treatment of iron deficiency.
Probably the most important role of iron in the human body is it’s use for the formation of haemoglobin, which is needed to transport oxygen to tissues. During iron deficiency, or even insufficiency, oxygen transfer to tissues will be impaired. This directly impacts the way our body manufactures cellular energy, and makes sense that during an iron deficit energy levels tend to be low.
This product contains a highly bioavailable form of iron, called iron glycinate, wherein one atom of iron is joined to two molecules of a non-essential amino acid called glycine. This joining process is essential for improved bioavailability, ensuring that the iron moves from the gut to the blood, where it is needed. Iron glycinate has been well demonstrated to be useful for restoring low levels (1). This form of iron tends to be gentler on the stomach as well and is unlikely to cause constipation. Vitamin C has been added to the formulation as it assist in the absorption of iron (2).
In addition to this, Fusion Iron Advanced contains a range of B Vitamins, including Vitamin B12, Folic acid, thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2) and pyridoxine (B6), which are important for the production of red blood cells and assist with the natural synthesis of cellular energy. Vitamin B complex are also helpful for stress management. Interestingly, if one has an iron deficient diet, it is likely that they will also be low on Vitamin B12, as B12 rich foods tend to also contain appreciable amounts of iron. The inclusion of Vitamin B12 is therefore helpful to assist in addressing this potential nutrient deficit.
