What is the difference between L-Carnitine and Acetyl L- Carnitine?
Both L-Carnitine and Acetyl L-Carnitine are fat transporters to deliver fatty acids into the mitrochondria (energy producing) of a cell. These fatty acids can be used to power muscles throughout your workout. Acetyl L-Carnitine basically has an acetyl group attached to the carnitine. This acetylised version is able to cross the blood brain barrier where it can also assist mitochondrial performance to enhance cognitive function.
Can I use Gen-Tec Acetyl L-Carnitine with my thermogenic fat burner?
Yes. Acetyl L-Carnitine is stimulant free and as stated above is really a fat transporter, not a fat burner. Thermogenics on the other hand almost always contain stimulants such as caffeine but work to increase heat in the body which aids caloric burning even at rest. These products would work well together if you were looking for faster results.
Can I mix Acetyl L-Carnitine with my protein shake?
We would not recommend you mix your Gen-Tec Acetyl L-Carnitine with your protein shake. Acetyl L-Carnitine is best taken prior to exercise to enable effective transport of fat to the mitochondira, whereas your protein shake would be of most benefit withing the first 30 - 60 minutes post-workout. Acetyl L-Carnitine also has quite a distinctive taste that would probably not mix well with your protein.
How many times a day can I use Gen-Tec Acetyl L-Carnitine?
For best results you should use Acetyl L-Carnitine twice per day. If you train in the morning you would take Acetyl L-Carnitine 20 minutes prior to training and then again in the afternoon and you would switch it around if you train in the afternoon. A 2g dose in the morning and a 2g dose of Acetyl L-Carnintine before your afternoon session. A 4g dose of Acetyl L-Carnitine has been shown to be the most effective.
Can I use Gen-Tec Acetyl L-Carnitine if I am not dieting?
Yes. Acetyl L-Carnitine has many other health benefits besides it supportive role in fat loss. Acetyl L-Carnitine improves cognitive function, assists energy production and has been shown to support healthy heart function.
