Body Science BSc Amino BCAA Fuel & BSc AminoBol - A Comparative LookDividerimage

The Body Science Essential Amino BCAA Fuel is an intra-workout supplement that has been designed to provide the body with an essential mix of branched chain amino acids (BCAAs) and electrolytes, maximising energy levels, muscle function and hydration during your workout. The new supplement has caused some confusion due to the fact that, on the surface, Amino BCAA Fuel is similar to AminoBol, another product engineered by BSc, which also contains electrolytes and a BCAA blend. However, the two products are not the same.

Both products have been designed to be used during your workout, in order to provide your muscles with the nutrients they need for energy during the workout and recovery period. Fuelling your body with BCAAs throughout your training session can reduce recovery time and increase muscle growth. The products both contain Powergrape, which is a natural ingredient that has been found to significantly improve performance, whilst reducing recovery time by up to 9%.

The first notable difference is the ratio of BCAAs contained within each product. The BSc Amino BCAA Fuel contains a 4:1:1 ratio of Leucine, Isoleucine and Valine, whereas AminoBol contains a ratio of 8:1:1. Research suggests that 4:1:1 may be the optimal ratio, as this is the rate at which BCAAs are oxidised from muscle tissue during exercise. Although research into BCAA ratios can be conflicting, there's some evidence to suggest that high ratios (such as 8:1:1) may have a detrimental effect. Until further research has been conducted into BCAA ratios, it may be sensible to opt for a product with a ratio of 4:1:1, such as Amino BCAA Fuel.

In addition to the above, the Amino BCAA Fuel is more cost-effective than the AminoBol. It is available in a 450g tub, which represents 30 servings, compared to 315g (21 servings) for the AminoBol.

BSc Essential Amino Energy also carries the informed sport, informed choice – trusted by sport logo, which ensures the professional athlete that they are taking a safe product containing zero banned substances.

To conclude, whilst there are many similarities between the two intra-workout products from BSc, they are essentially very different. Overall, BSC's Amino BCAA Fuel offers the best value for money, both literally and in terms of formulation. With a more balanced ratio of BCAAs, this product will optimise protein synthesis, increase energy and delay fatigue during your workout.
